Ladies Beginners:  This class is for players with little or no tennis experience and will focus on the fundamentals of strokes, grips, and technique.

Mixed Beginners:  This co-ed class is for players with little or no tennis experience and will focus on basic skills including backhand and forehand ground-strokes, serves, and keeping score.

 

Mixed Advanced Beginners:  A co-ed class for players who have already developed some fundamental tennis skills and can keep the ball in play with some consistency. Designed for players who are ready to learn volleys, strategy and shot placement, and are comfortable keeping score.

 

Mixed Intermediate Drill and Play:  A co-ed class for players ready to play matches at a competitive level and who have already mastered ground strokes, volleys and serves with some dependability. The focus will be on improving court coverage and strategy while working on shot making and ball placement.

 

Women’s Drop-In Doubles:  A drop in group for players looking for a doubles game in the evening. Levels range from 3.0-4.0. A pro will supervise and direct a 15 minute warm-up followed by match play. This league is designed for players who want an organized, competitive, but friendly doubles match.

Development 2:  5-7, 7-12, 13+ years. 
Future Stars: 8-13 years & have begun Match Play
 

 

YOUTH OUTDOOR TENNIS LESSONS- Friday's

Niles Park District offers a variety of tennis lessons to match the ability level of its participants. Those with little or no experience will receive instruction on their grip, footwork, backhand and scoring with some emphasis on the volley and serve. More advanced players who want to sharpen their game will learn the volley and serve, with specific techniques for the lob, smash, and game strategy. Emphasis will also be placed on the forehand and backhand.  Lessons will be held at the Grennan Heights courts, 8255 Oketo. The fee includes reserved use of courts during lessons. Students must supply their own tennis shoes and rackets.
