Oakton 1B

Dear Residents,

I know it may not feel like it, but soon the warmer weather will welcome everyone back to the parks, playgrounds, golf course, and to the pool.

Speaking of pools, our pool passes are on sale now until May 31, and you can save 10%. All pool pass holders will be able to enter the pool an hour earlier than the general public every day of the week! If you are looking to improve your swimming technique or learn how to swim we offer swim lessons and private lessons. All swim lesson information can be found on pages 14 & 15 of this guide.

We have some park playground make overs coming this summer. Oak Park and Jonquil Park will be getting brand new playground equipment which will include swings, slides, and climbing structures. Other park improvements planned throughout the district include regrading of baseball fields, turf restoration, and new fencing.

The Tam O'Shanter Golf Course renovation is now complete. One of the best ways to get out and enjoy summer is to experience the new look of Tam which includes new bunkers, tee boxes, drainage and tee boxes. Make sure to check out our junior and adult golf programs to help you fine tune your game.

Mark your calendars for our summer concerts. These free concerts are in cooperation with the Village of Niles. The concerts are every Friday from June 21 to July 26, so bring your friends and family and enjoy the music.
Looking for a fun summer camp? Children will love playing and making new friends this summer at one of our camps. The Niles Park District has many summer camps available for all ages. For a full list of all of our camps see pages 18-21 of this guide.

Relax and enjoy a summer evening under the stars at one of our annual movie nights. The movies will be shown on June 14 and August 16. The movies are shown on a 46 foot screen and will be shown at Grennan Heights Park at dusk.

We hope you enjoy the upcoming summer season and everything the Niles Park District has to offer. We want you to have fun and please take time to enjoy visiting our parks and facilities. If you ever have an idea for a new program, I want to hear about it. You can contact me with any comments or suggestions at 847-967-6633 or email me at tome@niles-parks.org.
