INTRO TO ROOKIE RANGERS- Basic Equipment Provided
Pre-requisite: None. This is an opportunity to try out our Rookie Rangers class for very little investment. This class is for the first-time skater with an interest in playing hockey. All required equipment (skates, shin-guards, elbow pads, gloves, helmet/facemask and stick) is provided free of charge. Enrollment & equipment is limited. Players who have their own equipment are welcome!

Pre-requisite: Complete Intro Class or possess basic skating skills. Must be able to stand on ice without assistance. Our most basic hockey class. This class is designed for the first-time skater with an interest in playing hockey. Skills covered in this class involve all basic skating skills-push & glides, stops, turns, backwards skating, and crossovers. Sticks and pucks are informally entered into each class every day to give each child a "taste" of playing hockey. All required equipment (skates, shin-guards, elbow pads, gloves, helmet/facemask and stick) is provided free of charge. Enrollment is limited. Players who have their own equipment are welcome into class.

Pre-requisite: One year completion of Rookie Rangers. Playing on a Rangers team is not necessary. Players must provide their own equipment. Full equipment is required. Power Rangers is the next progression after completing one year of Rookie Rangers. This class continues to cover skating at an intermediate level, as well as offering instruction on other skills of the game, including puck handling, passing and shooting. We strongly encourage players who want to join a Rangers team to continue to work on their individual skill development by taking a Power Rangers class.

POWER RANGERS PLUS
Pre-requisite: Completion of one year of Power Rangers, and/or approval of the Hockey Director. Power Rangers Plus is designed for players to increase their puck handling and passing skills in a fast paced environment. Players will have a puck on their stick for the majority of the class, and will participate in drills that involve accelerating, passing, receiving passes while moving and scoring. We strongly encourage players who play on a Rangers team to continue to work on their individual skill development by taking this class. Power Rangers Plus is considered the next progression in the NPD hockey program after Power Rangers. Players must provide their own equipment.

Hockey Edge & Off Ice Conditioning
Pre-requisite: Completed at least 1 year of Rookie Rangers, LTS Pre-Alpha 2, or have been in Power Rangers, or currently playing on U8 mite or above. The on-ice portion will focus on skating skills. Forward and backward skating, crossovers, turns, transitions, bilateral movements, all skills necessary to skate and maneuver quickly on the ice. Off-ice skaters will work on agility, anaerobic and aerobic conditioning, flexibility, and core strength. Do not wear full equipment, bring hockey stick, mat and gym shoes. No class February 5.
