SPRING JUNIOR CLASSES- 8 weeks (Monday 7 weeks)
April 8-June 1

M=Member, R=Resident, NR=Non-Resident, L=Level of Ability

Junior Class Descriptions:

Squirts (Level .5):  Age 4 only, who are just getting started.
Quick Starters (Level 1):  Players just starting to play tennis.
Hot Shots (Level 2):  Player has little experience playing tennis, needs stroke development.  Player is still working on getting the ball into play and is learning game scoring and rules.
Future Stars (Level 3):  1 hour class.  Can sustain a short rally at slow pace with other players of similiar ability.  Strokes are still developing, knows game rules of tennis.
Future Stars (Level 3.5):  1.5 hours.  Can sustain a short rally at slow pace with other players of similiar ability.  Strokes are still developing, knows game rules of tennis.  Has minimial tournament experience or moved from Level 3 by coach.
Future Stars (Level 4):  2 hours. Tournament level player.  Individual player can sustain a consistent rally and can serve and maintain a higher level of competition.  For players who are not yet in high school.
Challengers (Level 4.5):  Player has improved consistently with medium pace and is developing ability to control directions of the ball.  This level may play lower level tournaments and junior varsity high school.
Champions (Level 5):  Level is required to possess consistent ground strokes with depth and directional control.  Has control of serves, use of lobs, overheads, approach shots, and volleys.  Individual can compete at high school varsity level.

Adult Class Descriptions:

Ladies Beginners:  This class is foe players with little or no tennis experience and will focus on the fundamentals of strokes, grips and terchnique.
Mixed Beginners (Level 1-1.5):  This co-ed class is for players with little or no tennis experience and will focus on basic skills including backhand and forehand ground strokes, serves, and keeping score.
Mixed Advanced Beginners (Level 2-2.5):  A co-ed class for players who have already developed some fundamental skills and can keep the ball in play with some consistency.  Designed for players who are ready to learn volleys, strategy and shot placement, and are comfortable keeping score.
Mixed Intermediate Drill & Play (Level 3.5):  A co-ed class for players ready to play matches at a competitive level and who have already mastered ground strokes, volleys and serves with some dependability.  The focus will be on improving court coverage and strategy while working on shot making and ball placement,

Vince Thomas Basketball Training
Boys & Girls Grade 3-8

Vince Thomas runs a high-level clinic for boys and girls at all levels from beginner to travel players.  The philosophy of the clinics is to focus on improving shooting, ball handling, passing, defense, and mental skills.  The clinics are all about making your child a better basketball player while growing their love for the game.  No class Monday, January 15.  Instructor:  Vince Thomas

All Around Clinic
Players will go through a variety of basketball drills.  Speed, quickness, and agility training, defensive footwork, shooting, ball handling, and various passing drills.  Whether you're a perimeter or interior player, VTBT will equip you with the core essentials to be the best player you can be.  VTBT is designed for players of all levels.

Sharp Shooters
This camp is designed for players to refine their shooting technique.  Become the most valuable shot maker by learning the critical techniques, habits, and mindset of elite shooters.  Our camp will break down the shooting process and focus on proper shooting footwork.  Players will work on spot up shooting, shooting off the dribble, shooting off the pass, free throws and more through shooting drills, shooting games and game scenarios.

Dribble & Attack
This camp will teach players the ball handling and dribbling skills,drills, and techniques they need to master and navigate the court with complete confidence.  This camp will teach players how to cross-over defenders, develop their handle and continue to train on their own.  The curriculum focuses on individual skill development in ball handling and dribbling, a competitive environment, and progresses from individual moves, to drives and team aspects of penetration and kick.

T-BALL
Boys & Girls Ages 4-5 years

This league will put an emphasis on developing hitting, fielding, and throwing for the beginner using a batting tee.  Each game day will be broken up into 15 minutes of instruction followed by a low key 2 inning game.  Volunteers are needed.  All participants will receive a team t-shirt and hat.

ROOKIE BALL
Boys & Girls Ages 5-7 years

This league is for boys & girls ready to move from the batting tee and move to live pitching.   Volunteer coaches needed.  Your son or daughter will get to learn the fundamentals of the game while having a blast!  All participants will receive a team t-shirt & hat.  At least one season of T-Ball is recommended.

Sticky Fingers Cooking
Grade K-5

Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook tasty, healthy, globally inspired recipes!  Our interactive cooking classes incorporate STEAM, culture, language, geography, history and more.  Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes, master culinary skills and nourish their bodies and minds.  Our chef instructors bring all the ingredients, district approved equipment and supplies to lead an engaging, fun and interactive class.  All allergies are accommodated, and recipes are nut free.  Please note that recipes are subject to change based on our creative whim.  We have all new recipes planned throughout the year.  Min 8/Max 12.

Spike City Volleyball Academy
Boys & Girls Ages 9-14

Our Volleyball Academy helps the beginner and experienced player improve their skills with instruction.  Players will work to strengthen footwork, passing, setting, and spiking.  Each class is limited to 25 participants.  Instructor: Randy Satovitz

• Saturday, June 1 at Culver School.  Time: 1:00 pm.
• If a student would like to participate in the Spring Recital, costume fee is due the day you register for class.
• Costume fee is $65 for Older Participants, $50 for Younger Participants.

CHICAGO LOVES DANCE CLASSES (non-recital classes)

Tumbling/Gymnastics
Introduce your child to tumbling and gymnastics with instructors from Chicago Loves Dance.  Students stretch, jump, and tumble while progressing from somersault to cartwheels and round offs in this fun class.

Cheer/Poms
Ages 6-10
Under the direction of Chicago Loves Dance instructors, students will learn cheer as well as poms choreography weekly in this upbeat class.  They will learn 3-4 new cheers weekly, work on form, as well as add on to their poms dance routine.  The last day of the class will be a parent watch day where they will do a short performance.

Babysitting 101- NEW!
Boys & Girls, Ages 11-15
This class will prepare participants for babysitting jobs or other positions that require them to supervise children in the absence of parents or guardians.  Topics covered include: Child development stages, basic child care and first aid, safety, and leadership.  All participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.  Max of 10 participants.

Ages: 5 to Adult
Private, in person, one on one drum lessons at Niles Park District with Tom Corrao!  All styles of music and technique are taught.  Each lesson is 30 minutes.  Lessons are by appointment.  Prior to the start of the session, the instructor will contact you with the time of your lesson.

Tom Carrao has 24 years' experience as a professional drummer, percussionist, and teacher.  Tom teaches drums and percussion throughout the northwest suburban park districts and music schools.  Tom teaches all ages and level of students from beginner to advanced.  Tom is an enthuisastic highly experienced teacher and performer.  He offers each student an individualized lesson plan and curriculum and the best musical experience based on student's special interests.
