Ages 2-3Geared for children who are ready to be on their own! This warm and friendly environment is ideal for your little one to form first friendships. Softball- Youth Girls
Girls Softball Leagues
Grade 1-9 (as of 2024-2025 school year)The District will provide each player with socks and jersey. Each participant must supply their own batting helmet, face mask and glove. Niles has teamed up with surrounding communities to form the Cross-Town Girls Softball League. Your game schedule will consist of home games in Niles and away games in surrounding communities. Registration deadline is Friday, March 21.

Martial Arts
Shotokan Karate Classes
Register at Niles Park District for karate classes. Illinios Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland's premier karate school taught under the direction of John DiPasquale, four-time National Champion, and President of the American Shotokan Karate Association.
Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required. Uniform and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. Please note that the Youth and Adult classes train together. YOUTH/ADULT KARATE (Ages 7 & Up)
ISKC's karate classes offer a good mix of strength training with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. Class limit of 10. No class May 26.

Piano Lessons
Ages 5-AdultNiles Park District offers private piano lessons. Children and adults with all levels of experience are welcome and no prior instruction in piano or music is required. Lessons will focus on the fundamentals of technique, music theory, and good practice habits. Practice time may also be arranged through the park district for a minimal fee. In addition, students may need to purchase their own instruction books and music. Refunds will not be granted for missed lessons.

Time: Lessons are 30 minutes long

Meet our Piano instructors:
VICKY OSTWALD: Vicky Ostwald has a degree in piano and also studied piano pedagogy at the graduate level. She has many years of playing and teaching experience, including formerly teaching at the college level. Vicky enjoys working with all levels and all kinds of students, especially children but also adults, including those with special needs. If you have a special interest such as learning to play by ear, this can be incorporated into the lesson time. She looks forward to meeting you and your child!
TOM SLATER: Tom Slater has been playing music and studying the piano for over 30 years. He studied at Cleveland State University and has a background in classical, jazz and pop music. He is currently a muilti-instrumentalist in several local bands and he has been featured on the WGN Morning News, WXRT and NPR. Tom's main goals are to help his students develop and maintain good practice habits, learn music theory, and get the most enjoyment you can from playing music.
JEANNE HANLINE: Jeanne Hanine has studied music and given private lessons for over 35 years ficusing on teaching children and adults to read music and enjoy the accomplishment of sitting down to play this amazing instrument. Teaching traditional methods of classical and popular music are the results she hopes to acheive for her students. She has played various venues for private affairs and church functions. Patience, practice and enjoyment are the main goals.

INDOOR SOCCER- Session 2
Boys & Girls, Pre-K to Grade 8
Tiny Tots, Tots, Small Fry and Big Shots play 6v6 on half the field causing more touches of the ball by the player. JV & Varsity play 9v9 on full fields to continue development. Player supplies shin guards and gym shoes or plastic cleats. Small Fry, Big Shots, JV & Varsity- Practices will be bi-weekly and scheduled at the coach's discretion. Tiny Tots & Tots- Practice will be worked into their time slot every Saturday.

Youth Spring Soccer League
Boys & Girls Pre-K to Grade 8 (as of 2024-2025 school year)This program is designed to provide a fun and safe environment, teach the game of soccer, promote social interaction, and teach team concepts. Soccer develops individual skills and teamwork and is a vigorous and continuous exercise for the young athlete. The participant must supply their own shin guards and plastic cleats are optional. This league is for recreational soccer players. We are looking for volunteer coaches. Registration deadline is March 28.
Practices for 1-8 Grade will be scheduled by coaches during the week. Games will be on Saturdays with one or two Sundays mixed in.

Co-Ed Youth Volleyball League
Boys & Girls Grade 4-8 (as of 2024-25 school year)These volleyball leagues are designed to provide a positive environment for the young athlete to compete, have fun, enhance their volleyball skills, and learn the concept of being a team player. Each team will play 8 games plus playoffs. Volunteer coaches are needed. Teams can sign up as a co-ed team. Individual club players are welcomed, but no full-time club teams will be allowed. A max of 3 club players per team will be allowed on the court at one time. All coaches should fill out and submit a team packet which can be found online. Team practices are scheduled on Tuesday or Thursday nights throughout the season at the coach's discretion. Registration deadline is March 28. Questions and to volunteer, call 847-967-1529.
