Dance Classes
Niles Park District Dance Classes:
- Please bring a water bottle to class.
- Location: LoVerde Sports & Rec Center Dance Studio, unless noted
- PAYMENT DETAILS: 50% due at time of registration & 50% charged March 15.
Spring Dance Recital
- Saturday, June 7 at Culver School. Time: 1:00 pm.
- If a student would like to participate in the Spring Recital, costume/recital fee is due the day you register for class.
- Costume/Recital fee is $75.
- Costume measurements taken on the first day of class. The second week, parents will come in the last 20 minutes to pick the size they would like to order for their child.

Class Descriptions & Attire
Ballet/Tap: Ages 3-6: Combination class introducing ballet & tap. This class will focus on correct technique and terminology, address grace and poise, and review style. Ages 7-11: Combination class progressing with ballet & tap. This class will teach more solid ballet technique, improve upon quicker tap steps, and introduce more complex choreography. Girls Attire: leotard, tights, tap shoes, ballet shoes, optional skirt or tutu. Boys Attire: black pants, white t-shirt, dance shoes.
Jazz/Hip Hop: Ages 7-11: While listening to appropraite upbeat music, dancer will be learning energizing blended jazz and hip hop choreography. Attire: comfortable stretchy clothes or dancewear. No jeans. Clean/dry sneakers, jazz shoes, or socks.

Class Descriptions & Attire
Jazz/Hip Hop: Ages 7-12: While listening to upbeat music, dancer will be learning energizing hip hop choreography. Attire: comfortable stretchy clothes or dancewear. No jeans. Clean, dry sneakers, jazz shoes, or socks.
Modern/Contemporary (at Oasis Fun Center): Ages 7-11: Combination class introducing modern and contemporary. This class will focus on technique and terminology, address ease and flow, and body/space awareness. Ages 12-15: Combination class progressing with modern and contemporary. This class will teach more technique including head/tail connection, changing levels from floor to standing, and spiral. Dancers will be exploring improvisation, weight sharing, contact and momentum. Attire: comfortable stretchy clothes or dance wear. No jeans. Layers are encouraged. Socks, barefoot, or lyrical shoes.
Musical Theatre Dance (at Oasis Fun Center): Ages 7-11: Performers will be learning technique and terminology that combines Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop styles, while telling the story of the song. Ages 12-15: Performers will continue learning technique, learn more difficult choreography, and begin analyzing narrative/storytelling. Attire: comfortable stretchy clothes or dance wear. No jeans. Layers are encouraged. Jazz shoes, character shoes or socks. Note on character shoes, if it is your first pair, begin at a one-inch heel.
Parent/Body Work & Recovery: Ages 18+: Parents are hardworking rockstars who deserve to take some time taking care of themselves. Come learn about movement practices such as Bartenieff and Feldenkrais, developed and designed to relieve tension, prevent injury, and build strength. This is a class taught in low light, with soothing music to provide a relaxing ambiance. Attire: the comfier the better, no jeans. Socks or barefoot.
Adult Ballet/Jazz: Ages 18+: Combination class where dancers will learn Ballet and Jazz technique and terminology, work on balance, stamina and momentum, play with improvisation, and learn choreography. No prior dance experience required, just a fun way to exercise! Attire: stretchy, comfortable clothing that is not super baggy, no jeans. Jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or socks.

Drum Lessons
Ages: 5 to AdultPrivate, one on one drum lessons at Niles Park District with Tom Corrao! Instruction includes note reading, rudiments, history, theory, posture, composition, syncopation, and improvisation. All styles of music and technique are taught. Lessons are by appointment. Prior to the start of the session, the instructor will contact you with the time of your lesson. Register at the Howard Leisure Center.

Tom Corrao has 24 years' experience as a professional drummer, percussionist, and teacher. Tom teaches drums and percussion throughout the northwest suburban park districts and music schools. Tom teaches all ages and level of students from beginner to advanced. Tom is an enthuisastic highly experienced teacher and performer. He offers each student an individualized lesson plan and curriculum and the best musical experience based on student's special interests.
Rookie Ball
Boys & Girls Ages 5-7
This league is for boys and girls ready to move on from the batting tee and move to live coach pitching. Volunteer coaches are needed. Your son or daughter will get to learn the fundamentals of the game while having a blast! All participants will receive a team t-shirt and hat. At least one season of T-Ball is recommended.

Pickleball Lessons
Drills & Skills for Advanced Beginner/Early Intermediate: Drilling improves your level of play! If you have taken one or more classes and are starting or already play on a regular basis, this class is for you. Requirements include confidently keeping score, you know the rules, where to stand during a serve/return, and can execute a serve, return, drop, dink and volley. Improve your consistency, technique, and play with improvers like yourself.
Beginner- Brand new to Pickleball: For the student who is not familiar with Pickleball, has played only a few times, or only plays during class. We start from scratch and teach you the court layout, rules of the game, scoring, and basic strokes. Return students welcome who need work on the basics.

Come join us for fun days with friends during Spring Break, March 24-28. Sign up for 1, 2, or all days! We have fun activities planned for you. Each day is a different adventure, and you are sure to have a great time. Each camper must bring a nut free lunch and drink every day. Crafts, activities, sports, and more are included. Cars, Catapults and Bridges
Ages 7-12
This class focuses on teaching the fundamentals of engineering as students work in teams using LEGO simple machine kits. Each session will build upon the students skill level as they learn about levers, wheels/axels, gears. Projects could include building drawbridges, cars, amusement park ride, cranes, catapults, and more. Join the fun while you explore engineering concepts that you can use at home for your own projects. Min 6/Max 12.

Intro to Robotics

Private 1 on 1 lessons. This is a comprehensive guitar course that embarks on a musical journey that covers a spectrum of styles and genres, ensuring a well-rounded and adaptable skill set. Our course is designed to provide a solid foundation in music theory, chord progressions, scales, and technique. From the fundamentals, we delve into various genres such as rock, blues, jazz, country, folk, and any other style of interest. This course ensures a versatile understanding of the guitar that will allow you to transcend genre boundaries. All you need is an acoustic guitar or electric guitar. Instructional materials will be provided.

Carter Stark is a guitarist, teacher, and concert curator. Carter performs classical guitar, jazz guitar, and rock/pop guitar. His teaching approach keeps the listener and student in mind at every step and opens the door to deep musical exploration and experience. Lessons will cover a spectrum of styles and genres.
T-Ball
Boys & Girls Ages 4-5 years
This league will put an emphasis on developing hitting, fielding, and throwing for the beginner using a batting tee. Each game day will be broken up into 15 minutes of instruction followed by a low key 2 inning game. Volunteers are needed. All participants will receive a team t-shirt and hat.
