SPRING JUNIOR CLASSES
March 31-May 31 (Mon: 8 weeks, Tues-Sat: 9 weeks)

L=Level of Ability

Junior Class Descriptions:
Quick Starters (Level 1):  Players just starting to play tennis.
Hot Shots (Level 2):  Player has little experience playing tennis, needs stroke development.  Player is still working on getting the ball into play and is learning game scoring and rules.
Future Stars (Level 3):  1 hour class.  Can sustain a short rally at slow pace with other players of similiar ability.  Strokes are still developing, knows game rules of tennis.
Future Stars (Level 3.5-4):  1.5 hours.  Can sustain a short rally at slow pace with other players of similiar ability.  Strokes are still developing, knows game rules of tennis.  Has minimial tournament experience or moved from Level 3 by coach.
JTT Girls High School:  1.5 hours.  Individual player can sustain a consistent rally and can serve and maintain a higher level of competition.  Has minimial tournament experience and has preapproval from a tennis professional.
Challengers (Level 4.5):  Player has improved consistently with medium pace and is developing ability to control directions of the ball.  This level may play lower level tournaments and junior varsity high school.
Champions (Level 5):  Level is required to possess consistent ground strokes with depth and directional control.  Has control of serves, use of lobs, overheads, approach shots, and volleys.  Individual can compete at high school varsity level. 

SPRING ADULT CLASSES
March 31-May 31  (Mon: 8 weeks, Tues-Sat: 9 weeks)

Adult Class Descriptions:
Mixed Beginners (Level 1-1.5):  This co-ed class is for players with little or no tennis experience and will focus on basic skills including backhand and forehand ground strokes, serves, and keeping score.
Mixed Advanced Beginners (Level 2-2.5):  A co-ed class for players who have already developed some fundamental skills and can keep the ball in play with some consistency.  Designed for players who are ready to learn volleys, strategy and shot placement, and are comfortable keeping score.
Mixed Advanced Drill & Play (Level 3.5):  A co-ed class for advanced players who possess a high level of court awareness, technique, footwork and consistency.
*For any class that is not a Beginner Class- Player evaluations needed.  Pros will assess players skill level set to insure proper class placement.

LITTLE LADIES WINTER DANCE- 2 DATES!  Friday, February 7 & Saturday, February 8
Girls 3-12 years & Adult
All little ladies are invited to attend this special evening with their special someone- dad, grandpa, uncle, or friend.  Throughout the evening there will be dancing and a good time to be had by all.  Dinner will include chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, mac n cheese, fruit and dessert.  No refunds.

LITTLE GENTLEMAN'S WINTER DANCE- Friday, February 21- EVENT IS FULL
Boys 3-12 years & Adult
It's moms, grandmas, aunts or friends special night out with their little gentleman.  Join us for an evening that includes dinner, dancing and fun!  Don't miss out on this special event.  No refunds.

ST. PATTY'S DAY SKATE AT ICELAND- Saturday, March 15
You are invited to IceLand to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!  Enjoy skating to the music of the Irish.  Swag for the first 50 children.  No pre-registration required.  Line will open at Noon.

BREAKFAST WITH BUNNY- Saturday, April 5
Hop on over and enjoy a breakfast with Bunny at the Howard Leisure Center.  Each child has the opportunity to meet with the Bunny.  All adults and children in attendance must pre-register for this event.  Registration will not be accepted the day of the event.

SPRING EGG SCRAMBLE- Saturday, April 12
Ages 1-9
Bunny will scatter eggs filled with lots of goodies on the Tam Golf Course.  Remember to bring a basket to collect your eggs.  There will be complimentary refreshments for all to enjoy.  In case of inclement weather, the event will take place indoors at Golf View Rec Center.  Registration will not be accepted the day of the event.

FLASHLIGHT EGG HUNT- Wednesday, April 16
Ages 5-12
Check in for your goodie bag before we hunt for eggs under the moonlight at Tam O'Shanter!  Bring your flashlight and basket to collect your eggs and goodies.  The event will end once the hunt is over.  Parent must accompany child/children on the course for the hunt.  All ages will hunt together.  In case of inclement weather, event will not be rescheduled and refunds will be given.  Registration will not be accepted the day of the event.  60 max per time slot.

ICELAND SPRING SKATE- Saturday, April 19
Kids, Adults, Families
There will be skating games and lots of fun for everyone!  Appearance by the Easter Bunny!  No pre-registration required.  Line will open at Noon.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Theatre Classes with Trisha!

Theatre Fundamentals/Intro to Acting- Ages 7-17
Ages 7-11:  Actors will learn about the rehearsal process, stage directions, voice and diction, warm-ups, and scene/character analysis, through exercises, games, discussion and improvisation.  No open toed shoes.
Ages 12-17:  Actors will learn about object endowment, character beats, scene partner work, and more through exercises, games, discussion, improvisation, and scene work.  No open toed shoes.
Location:  LoVerde Sports & Rec Center (No class Mar 25, 26, Apr 15)

Acting Styles & Scenes- Ages 7-17
Ages 7-11:  Actors will explore genres such as comedy, drama and naturalism through scene work, partner and ensemble exercises, and improvisation games.  Actors will learn about tone, movement, context and character movement.  No open toed shoes.
Ages 12-17:  Actors will explore genres such as farce, tragedy, classical/Shakespeare, and absurdism through scene work, partner and ensemble exercises, and improvisation games.  Actors will continue to learn about and utilize tone, movement, context, and character motivation.  No open toed shoes.  
Final 30 minutes of the last class will include a performance of scenes from the class for family and friends.

Spike City Volleyball Academy
Boys & Girls Grade 4-8

Our Volleyball Academy helps the beginner and experienced player improve their skills with instruction.  Players will work to strengthen footwork, passing, setting, and spiking.  Each class is limited to 25 participants.  Instructor: Randy Satovitz

Babysitting 101
Boys & Girls, Ages 11-15
This class will prepare participants for babysitting jobs or other positions that require them to supervise children in the absence of parents or guardians.  Topics covered include: Child development stages, basic child care and first aid, safety, and leadership.  All participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.  Max of 10 participants.

Vince Thomas Basketball Training
Boys & Girls Grade 3-8

Vince Thomas runs a high-level clinic for boys and girls at all levels from beginner to travel players.  The philosophy of the clinics is to focus on improving shooting, ball handling, passing, defense, and mental skills.  The clinics are all about making your child a better basketball player while growing their love for the game.  No class Monday, January 20.  Instructor:  Vince Thomas

All Around Clinic
Players will go through a variety of basketball drills.  Speed, quickness, and agility training, defensive footwork, shooting, ball handling, and various passing drills.  Whether you're a perimeter or interior player, VTBT will equip you with the core essentials to be the best player you can be.  VTBT is designed for players of all levels.

Sharp Shooters
This camp is designed for players to refine their shooting technique.  Become the most valuable shot maker by learning the critical techniques, habits, and mindset of elite shooters.  Our camp will break down the shooting process and focus on proper shooting footwork.  Players will work on spot up shooting, shooting off the dribble, shooting off the pass, free throws and more through shooting drills, shooting games and game scenarios.

Dribble & Attack
This camp will teach players the ball handling and dribbling skills,drills, and techniques they need to master and navigate the court with complete confidence.  This camp will teach players how to cross-over defenders, develop their handle and continue to train on their own.  The curriculum focuses on individual skill development in ball handling and dribbling, a competitive environment, and progresses from individual moves, to drives and team aspects of penetration and kick.

Girls Indoor Flag Football Clinic

Niles Park District and Niles Township D219 are eager to present a FREE opportunity for Grade 5-8 girls who want to learn more about and play Flag Football.  The clinic will include a review of the sport, skill practice and basic game play.
